Photo Blog: Mid-Autumn Festival at the Canal So this year, I din engage in any endangering the Earth's global warming activities. Just purely head to the canal with my dearest neighbour to get some
good photos of the families and friends having fun there and the fireworks, which in my very own opinion, very pathetic and average!
Along the Canal's Path Set

While waiting for Cin and Lucas bugging me at the side

BBQ-ing under the big round moon hanging in mid-air

Stairway to heaven?

Bon fires for sabotage?

Of the Sunday's Fireworks Set

Notice the train running past. heh

Back to the Canal Set - Of Lanterns And Sparklers

The other side seemed more happening and decided to head there

Saturaday's

Sunday's. It was quite humid after the rain compared to Sat's breeze!
The More Happening Side Set

The lotus and tigger family

I think she needs to differentiate between a lantern and a yoyo

Celebrating Mid-Autumn is still an eventful affair at the canal despite the heavy downpour on Sunday. I guess it doesnt affect anybody's mood to gather and have some fun together under the moon even though the PSI around the area will be quite high. Dad was so nice to accompany me for the fireworks on the actual day too!
I din went to the Chinese Garden for Hello Kitty and Friends and neither did I have mooncakes, it was quite joyous for me, especially after the photo-taking session, I had a very big bowl of
ba chou mee and ice teas to fill my tummy and quench my thirst. It was damn shiok and of cos, the many flavours of the agar agar mooncakes that my mum made - Red Bean with Chendol, Kiwi, Strawberries, Yellow Bean and Lychee.
Let's keep this culture going at the Jurong Canal every year! Last piece for an engulfed moon and my trusty LX2. heh. Please ignore those shadows in the pictures. The people were moving too much. hahah

Photo Blog: Food + F1 + Mooncakes Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango or commonly known as F4) The Movie is the continuation from their dramas though some parts are draggy, it's not bad and pretty humourous too, with the not so handsome flowers! And I thought Makino was very cute when she's angry with Domyoji. heh
Moreover, there's this quote in the movie that's so true - 'Sharing all bad things make it half as bad, while sharing the good things makes it twice as good'
My Mum's Crusine next at Paragon because there was no queues. Fast enough to fill our empty tummies. However, food served was so average which later caused me a major diarrhoea later on -_- I think it's the oysters! It tasted raw and fishy!! Hawker centres ones are so much better and the plain rice was kinda dry too!
tssssk

After all the inputs, I straight away had outputs. My friends always say I superb waste money. lol
Walked around and withnessed the hype on 2008 Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. It's going to be the most anticipated event in local history and also the first night racing in F1 grandpix history. A whopping 100,000 people are expected to turn out for this 61 laps, 300km extravaganza. The practices will be held on the 26th Sept; qualifying on the 27th and the actual race on the 28th. Because the ticket prices were too much for commoners like us to take it, we gotta watch these world’s most technically sophisticated cars in action on television unless Dad got free tickets. heheheh

Hopped to Isetan Orchard because the friend wanted to see if there's any cheap bargains at the DKNY sales. Oh well, we made a conclusion that we are not fated to have any good bargains from these type of sales because the crowds were too overwhelming for us and we were kinda lazy to jostle with the rest. So I suggested to go over to Takashimaya.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is just round the corner, 14th Sept to be exact and I'm not a big fan of mooncakes. I think they are horrible especially those traditional types on top. I was offered a mini snowskin lychee-tini mooncake (lychee martini, white lotus seed paste and a chocolate truffle centre) from Ritz-Carlton at my uncle's house. I couldnt really taste the chocolate as the lotus paste was too strong but the lychee martini was refreshing. So if anybody who wants to get chocolate mooncakes, it's a no no.
Greentea ones shouldnt be that bad though. But the mooncake agar-agars rock big time! I heart the lychees and kiwis. Damn shiok I tell you! Maybe I should ask my mother to improvise her recipe like adding martini into the lychees and make strawberries one? hurhur
I cant wait for the weekend. There's a couple of big matches with the Reds hosting the Devils and Chelsea paying a visit to Man City. I think Man City is going to be a dark horse after a takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (ADUG), which means they have a bottomless cash pit and are ready to bankroll on Europe's top talents. It's gonna take awhile I guess since they neither top EPL nor in the Champion League, though Robinho's move to City shellshocked everyone when he was thought to be going to Chelsea.
Nuff said, it's also the time to create some havoc at the canal again. Let's all gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, eat moon cakes and pomeloes together and burn some lanterns and sparkers too! In conjuction with the festival, the Chinese Garden will put up beautiful lightings of Sanrio's popular icon - Hello Kitty Go Races! in this Lantern Fantasy 2008.
Hopefully, there's fireworks display this year too! =D
