Photoblog: Chapter 2.1 of New Zealand

Continued from where I left, still on the same day. Proceeded to Te Puke to visit Kiwi 360, a kiwi fruit orchard. First thing we reached there was to have our lunch. It was a buffet lunch with fusion but mostly chinese food - Average

Chicken, fried rice, fried noodles, nuggets, onion rings, salad, soup and bread sticks

After eating, I went to their backyard/ orchard to walk around and take photos. It was a huge one with some resting areas (really can slack), and a garden filled with flowers. I love it there. It was so quiet, so peaceful and so prettyyyy! Some colourful flowers to share..

Out-of-focused shot. <3

Returned back to find they had almost finished up the entire pot of kiwi ice-cream :( I managed to eat the leftovers. It was very vanillaish with kiwi flavours. Not bad actually. Quite like the refreshing taste. heh

Hopped onto the Kiwi Karts and embarked a guided tour through the orchard. Amazingly, even though it's a kiwi orchard, they had lots of other fruits too like cherries, apples, oranges, strawberries and some unknown fruits, seeds, nuts and etc. Din manage to capture loads of photos :( but got kiwis lah :(((((

Cute kiwi karts

lol

This is to warn/ keep the fruits from the frost

To keep away from the wind

The orchard's very nice, very much like what I've imagined and almost the same as from telvisions. So have the urge to own one farm but it's very expensive and require lots of knowledge. Btw, having a farm is one of my dreams :)

The weather turned bad (raining very heavily) at the last stop, Rainbow Springs, and it was freaking cold. The place is actually a home to thousands of trout and native birds. But there is only one NZ icon - Kiwi bird. (Really is one and only one)

Initially, I thought the Rainbow Spring is a place for scenery. When I reached there and know bout it, I was quite stunned. You see the name so nice, how in the world has it become a 'birdpark' bleaaaah

Pretty tourguide

Unknown duck; Stupid parrot; Moa, the extinct herbivore giant

Rain stopped soon after. Weather here is very termperant. Started to take more photos. Not really interested in taking photos here. And the stupid parrot which is super fierce and KP (keep screeching for god knows wad reasons) came and use his beak to poke against my camera's lens!!!!!! WHAAAAAT THE! My heart was shattered and my worst fear was to see a hole in my camera lens!!!!!!!

Luckily, the lens is very strong! My mood was quite bad after the incident. Assholeeeee! :((((((((((((( The parrots over there are violent and troublemakers too. They spoil the surrounding stuffs especially wood -_-

Weka - NZ Bush Hen

Trout - NZ's favourite sport fish

There are 5 different types of trout, namely - Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout/ Char, Trout and Tiger Trout. It was quite dark inside and all the trouts are inside the big fish tank, it was hard for me to differentiate. hahah

Headed back to the hotel. Rested awhile before heading to their supermarket (Pak & Save). This is the 'Shop & Save' grade in Singapore. They also have a few other brands of supermarkets. Pak & Save is very big, like Giant, with all their uluated brands. I could only recognise Maggi, Coke, 100 Plus. hahah

Look at the chocolate chips. OMG!

Bought some food back for emergency because dinner was going to be quite bad =P Anyway, Eclipse is selling very cheap over there! Three times lesser. Like omg! And I'm in love with the orange mints. Refreshing and I bought back alot. hahah

Headed back to the hotel to rest awhile before dinner. Tonight's dinner was special. We had the traditional Hangi Feast (ultimate Rotorua experience as claimed), whereby the food is cooked in steam boxes and hot water pool (Total NIGHTMARE!!!!!) But still gotta try and see how isit. tsk

Maori speaking

Appetiser

See the greens!

This is what I get for myself

That was all I ate. They have lamb steak lah whereby the chef would cut it for you but I'm not a fan of it. Pathetic like what can. I was a 90% vegetarian for that night because I tried the mussels and prawns. So much carbo for all the potatoes and sweet potatoes! Then again, the desserts looked delightful but sinfully good!

The traditional dessert. !

The cake was ultimate! Sugary, foamy and fluffy! It just melts in your mouth because all you taste is sugar. You just want to keep going for more! Yummylicious! Sinfully good!

Healthier choice

Whipped cream - Not my choice!

See how grouchy they were

I shall drink the water to fill my tummy =/

It was the Maori Concert after dinner. I like it! It was very interesting and eye-opening. Feels like in a Lilo & Stitch concert. lol. They showed us some of their traditional greetings (shake hands and rub nose), how to scare enemies (open your eyes big and stare and stick out your tongue), their weapons, what they do during their free times etc. Fortunately, their songs are niceeeeee! =D

TY time

Before everything ended, we sang a Merry Xmas song! So fun and enjoyable! Really have the atmosphere of in a pop concert. heh.

Went back to hotel and slack awhile before whipping up a feast in the room. Because my room had a mini kitchen, everything was easy. We had a microwave!

This was nooooot bad

Pizza! The cheese smell was so bad, worse than the sulphur! haha

The whole room stink like nobody's business - Rotten cheesy smell. lol. However, it was yummy. hahah. After eating, showered and rest before waking up at some unearthly hour again! Touring with a group is sometimes like a torture =/
